Oder River Branch

The spring of the Odra River, located in the territory of the Libavá Military Unit, is a popular tourist destination. The spring rises on a peat meadow in a shallow saddle at an altitude of 634 m below Fidl Hill (680 m above sea level). Interestingly, this place was only designated as the source of the Oder in 1715. Previously, other locations were considered to be the origin of the great river. The modified spring is only accessible on weekends by the red trail from the village of Kozlov. The source of the Oder lies near the main European watershed between the Baltic and Black Sea. In the Czech Republic, the Odra River is 132 km long, about one sixth of its total length, and flows into Poland below Bohumín at an altitude of 190 m above sea level. The Odra River has two morphologically distinct sections in the Czech territory. In its source part in the Low Jeseník Mountains, the stream has the character of a mountain torrent and flows through a deep forested valley with a narrow river floodplain.

In the area of the source of the Oder River, the nature trail "To the source of the Oder River" has been built. On the information boards, which the trail is equipped with, visitors will find the story of this place since its first preserved record three hundred years ago by the owner of the Spálov estate, Karl Ferdinand Schertz, information about the natural wealth of its surroundings, but also about the forestry administration of the Oder Hills and the history of their settlement.

Narodowy Rezerwat Przyrody Kaluza

The Kaluža National Nature Reserve is located on the right bank slopes of the deeply incised valley of the Moravice River about 4 km south-southwest of Hradec nad Moravicí.

The long-term goal of the management is to protect the spontaneous processes of the forest ecosystem by leaving the forest stands to develop spontaneously, which was initiated in 2004. Gradual regeneration of trees in old stands should lead to small-scale spatial differentiation of stands and an increase in the supply of standing timber in all its forms (standing breaks, snags, stumps, lying logs and snags). The spontaneous development should lead to an increase in the mosaic of structure and texture, or the associated biodiversity. There is no nature trail or marked hiking or cycling route through the Kaluža National Nature Reserve. Field trips to the Kaluža National Nature Reserve are possible along the western boundary, where a paved valley road, mainly used for forest and hunting management, runs.

Narodowy Rezerwat Przyrody Kaluza

Rezerwat przyrody Panská Luky

The site is located in the district of Olomouc and belongs to the cadastral area of Moravský Beroun. PR is located approximately 2 km east of the village Dětřichov nad Bystřicí, on the southeastern slope of the highest peak of the Low Jeseník - Slunečná (800 m above sea level). The current aim of the protection of the area (in the time horizon up to half a century) is to stabilise the conditions for the restoration of vernal pool and wetland (charred, sometimes pseudoglacial) forest biotopes with a mosaic of herbaceous vegetation with viable populations of vernal pool herbaceous phenomena. The aim of protection in the long term is a forest ecosystem left to evolve spontaneously and corresponding to the 'natural forest' level of naturalness with herbaceous phytocenosis naturally linked to the habitat conditions characteristic of forest vernal pools. A marked hiking trail and a nature trail pass through the area, which allows for field excursions.

Rezerwat przyrody Nové Těchanovice

The site is located near the town of Vítkov and belongs to the cadastral area of Nové Těchanovice. The object of protection is a unique mixture of thermophilic and mountain elements in a mixed forest on a steep rocky slope. Also due to its inaccessibility, the area is left to natural development and has an almost forest-like character. Although no inanimate natural formations are subject to protection, the rock outcrops are a beautiful stone textbook for the presentation of geological processes. A green tourist trail connecting the villages of Zálužné and Podhradí passes through the site and it is possible to lead field trips through the area

Zálužné to ważna lokalizacja w Europie

The location is located in the village of Zálužné, cadastral area of Nové Těchanovice. The subject of protection is - the black bat (Barbastella barbastellus). Historical mine workings after the extraction of slate is made up of a system of corridors and large chambers, which are largely filled with a stoneware base with a large number of joints, suitable for bats to hibernate. The total length of the premises exceeds 3 km, a small stream flows through some parts. The Slate Heritage educational trail leads through the site and stops at the mouth of the mine are suitable for field excursions focusing on mining and an explanation about airplanes.
