Mining chapel in Zálužné

In the village of Zálužné there is a chapel, as the only building of its kind, dedicated to the eternal memory of all mining victims of slate mining. It was built by husband and wife Julius and Anna Gebauer, who wanted to honor the memory of the tragic event from 1885 at the adjacent Gebauer and Mahr mines. In 1897, they had a new building plot No. 87 set aside from the original plot of land as a site for the construction of the chapel, and soon after that they started building it. The chapel not only commemorates the death of the mine owners caused by a mining accident, it is also a memorial to all the mining victims of the local slate mines.

At the beginning of the 1990s, the repair of the chapel was started on the initiative of local citizens and owners of recreational facilities.

Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul in Kružberk

The Church of St. Peter and Paul is located on the southern outskirts of the village of Kružberk. It dates back to the first half of the 14th century. The church is a state-protected cultural monument and one of the oldest churches in Silesia. The Church of St. Peter and Paul is a single-nave building with an almost square ground plan and an offset chancel. A four-sided sacristy adjoins the nave in the eastern part. In the bell tower there is a bell with the date 1766. The use of slate not only as a roofing material, but also as large-format slabs to cover the church pillars, eaves walkways and church walls is quite unique. The Church of St. Peter and Paul is regularly included in field trips organized by the Society.

Wooden church in Lipná

The Church of St. John the Baptist is located approximately 15 km from Hranice in the cadastral area of Lipná. This wooden church is the last building of this type in the Oder Hills and is listed as a cultural monument. The exact date of the church's construction is unknown, but the date 1699 on the baroque organ positive suggests that it was built in the 17th century. The church acquired its present form during the reconstruction in 1746. Around the church is a dry-stone wall dating from 1854. Between the wall and the church are the original gravestones of the German inhabitants. The interior of the church is simple with no significant decoration or other elements. The smaller Baroque altar bears the image of the patron saint of the church, the interior walls are plastered and painted white, the ceiling is flat, and the presbytery is simply painted. Since 1927, the floor has been paved with large slabs of slate. The exterior walls and the simple roof are covered with split shingles.

Church of St. Anne in Stara Voda

Stará Voda is an extinct village near the town of Libavá. The last trace of the vanished village is the Baroque church dedicated to St. Anne and St. James the Elder built in 1683 - 1688. The Piarists were in charge of the area of which St. Anne's Church was a part for several hundred years. The complex included a church, a chapel, a monastery and large monastery gardens. In 1946, the German population was expelled and the Ministry of National Defence promised that the church and monastery could continue to serve their purpose. In 1949 the last pilgrimage was held here and then the area was closed for the use of the military. The picturesque village of Stará Voda was closed down and gradually razed to the ground. The great damage caused by the army has been gradually repaired since the 1990s. In 1991, the famous pilgrimages were restored. Near the church there is a Royal Well with supposedly healing water. Both St. Anne's Church and the Royal Well are gradually being restored to their original beauty by scouts and local volunteers. The completely destroyed interior of the church is a telling memento of the Soviet troops' presence on our territory. The church is a cultural monument.
